Biography
Zhang Yu (styled Yu Ren, also known by his literary name Shi Yu), 1959. Born in Tianjin, China. 1988 Graduated from Tianjin Academy of Arts and Crafts. Previously editor at Tianjin Yangliuqing Fine Arts Press. 2002 Associate Professor at Tianjin Transportation Vocational College. 2004 Guest Professor at New Media Art Specialty of Beijing Film Academy. Now professional artist lives and works in Beijing and Tianjin.
Gave Lectures: 1993 Gave lectures at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in Belgium. 2003 Gave lectures at the Department of Oriental Arts and the Department of Design of the School of Literature, Nankai University, Tianjin. 2004 Gave lectures at the New Media Art Specialty of Beijing Film Academy. 2006 Gave lectures at the Comprehensive Painting Department, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
