Biography
Marina Calamai (Arezzo 1962) lives and works in Florence. She studied Fashion Design in Paris and New York. She worked in Paris from 1983-1985, and in Florence from 1985-1997. In New York, in 1998, at the Art Students’ League. In 2001, she began to exhibit in public and private spaces. She started making her first cake pieces during one of her pregnancies, when hyperglycemia forced her to renounce sugar. Her latest works are large-scale sound/smell installations.
