Biography
Gabriele Mallegni was born in Pisa  in 1977, Liceo Artistico Statale di Lucca, Fine Arts degree from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara. Giant insects in metal and resin are his characteristic work. These large sculptures are made of separate component pieces which can be dismantled and reassembled, to allow for different poses in space. He has long collaborated with the University of Pisa in the field of physiognomic reconstructions, which he moulds by hand.
